The trail is very bad this year, many of the bridges have come down and stairwells have been washed out.  On parts of the trail it is best to leave the trail and avoid some of the more dangerous obstacles.

On the trip we saw two beaver dens a few dams and many small muskrat dens along the banks.  The engineering skills of the beavers amazes me.

We decided to go off the trail, something we never do.  We always carry safety gear and could have spent the night.

Just before leaving we heard on the radio news played in the store, "..something...Alice Lake...something....snowplow".   We continued up the highway and were suddenly met with raging snow.

Lynn Valley Headwaters

The Lynn Valley Headwaters are a short drive from Vancouver.  There are a number of hiking trails ranging in difficulty.

Back Again

At the first oppertunaty we loaded the canoe and headed out for the day.  The lake here is very beautiful but we enjoy paddling the streams much more.
