Spring Break Road Trip
West coast USA
Oregon Coast Near Seaside |
We decide on a bit of a whim to do a huge road trip all down the coast of the US. Our plan was to drive from our house , in Burnaby, to Portland then over to the 101 highway all the way down to San Francisco then LA then Las Vegas then back. It was an adventure even though Alden made a millions plans of things to stop at and planned all the hotels too. Our first real stop was the coast of Oregon. Very different from the beaches back home. We stopped at a lot of parks, almost every one charges around $5 for all day parking which we were happy to pay to help keep the parks running.

Once we entered California we were in Red Wood country. California seems to have a good set up for parks, you get to drive right up to the edge of the parks look around and then leave without touching the majority of the land. I think this is a nice way of keeping the wilderness pristine and untouched while getting people to see some of its beauty. The wildlife seems well preserved. We were able to see wild turkeys and Elk. The Chandelier Tree Park also cost $5 and we thought it was well worth it just for the picture.

We continued on and finally crossed the golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco.
