Buntzen Lake
Buntzen is a small but nice lake. It is well maintained by BC Hydro. From the parking area there is a nice hike/ walk that circles the lake. There is some fishing, though we have never been able to catch anything. We have seen many small trout on the far side of the lake and seen someone else catch a small fish right off the dock. There is a boat launch area if you have a small boat or canoe. Every time we have gone there have always been lots of people in the main picnic area and on the far side of the lake. You can swim here and the water is very nice. If you canoe we found there was a nice area if you follow to the left from the boat launch area. Its not large but there are less people and some interesting stumps.
The last time we were here we showed up early and waited for the gate to open. Fished for a couple hours while paddling around the lake. Cooked lunch in the picnic area and left around 2PM, had a very nice day. Not too much of an adventure but a great way to spend the morning
